The Pieces (Fragments), with Jan and myself on altos and Anthony on piano, is based on a graphic score which allows each player to improvise freely albeit within the limits of the graphics - which are mainly verbal instructions. There are several sections or variations, each with its own character, but it opens and closes with a fast and furious piece or fragment, which substitutes for the traditional opening/closing theme.
